I would first be suspect of a weeping valve IF the head and surrounding area is ALWAYS wet.
If not always wet then it's time of exploratory excavation.....

if you have no idea...
-it could be the head
-it could be the pipe
-it could be the fitting

dig it all up... cut out the fitting and replace it all (including the head)

there... now you are a sprinkler technician (sprinklerguy is going to be soooo mad)

Leak at Sprinkler Head

First, I wish to apologize in advance. This is the first house I have owned with a sprinkler system, therefore, I am a complete novice. I have a water leak at a spinkler head which is a Hunter PGP. Can I get some advice as to how to troubleshoot this problem? I truly do not know where to begin. Thanks in advance.
