I have a Nelson controller installed in 1999. Last year it was running during the day, in addition to the program I had it set for at night. Can you tell me if I set it to program B, does it run both A and B? If C, then all three? If this is the case, is it designed to set the front yard on program A and the back yard on program B, so you don't have to run your sprinklers for 4 hours in a row?

Or do I just have a bad controller?

Thanks for the response. All the programming settings did check out OK. I reprogrammed everything from scratch anyway; let's see what happens.

Check your start times, and station run times. Sounds like you may have different start times or multiple programs running. Check if you have more than 1 program, such as A, B, or C. Check to make sure you only have one start time.

Bad Controller?

I have a ten year old Orbit Control Star 6 zone controller, never had any problems. Only 4 zones are hooked up. The program that has been set is running inconsistently.

One day all four zones run correctly, the next day zones 1 and 2 run correctly and zones 3 and 4 never turn on. This morning zone 1 runs and zones 2, 3, and 4 never turn on.

Is this behavior being caused by a bad controller or is there something else to check?
