Irrigation comes on before scheduled water time and day

I have a intermatic time clock with a 3 zone indexing valve on my irrigation system, the problem is that the day before the irrigation is scheduled to run, zone 1 will open up and run for approximately one to two minutes and then shut off. The following day when it comes on for its scheduled watering time it skips zone 1 and just waters zones 2 and 3. I have changed the time clock out three times now thinking that it was a defect in the clock but it still continues. Any help suggestions that you can offer would be great.
