What kind of controller do you have? It's possible the controller is acting up as well.

Do you have a multimeter? Test for ohms and voltage at the controller

Zone 4 valve won't open after 3; won't close going to 5.

I replaced a valve for zone 4 (this after replacing it last year) due to the fact that once zone 3 was finished the valve for 3 would close, but 4 would not open without manually doing so. Once 4 is completed on the timer it does not close (must close manually), but zone 5 kicks on. I cleaned zone 4 valve completely before replacing, but was still ineffective. Ideas/solutions??? ?( ?( ?(
