IF it went into a water line you might possibly see a valve stick on or a head not flow properly. It might not hurt anything for years to come. There is really no exact answer to that problem.

Watts 0802 vent assembley

When I did my start up on my system water started to come out of the top of the backflow preventer. I shut the water off and open the cap on the backflow and the vent float was broken. It looks like a white plastic crown with 4 stems on top. Well one of the stems broke off. I was wondering if that white plastic pc. went down into one of the water lines, and if did will it do any damage? Any help would be great. Thanks Rick
