Unplug your timer, make sure that valve is shut off, remove that zones wire from the timer, plug the timer in, and if the valve remains off it is a faulty timer. I would replace it with a hunter SRC, unless that is what it is. If the timer is bad, return it (if its new) and you will get another one

Thanks

Valve comes on without timer

My son-in law replaced a bad valve yesterday. The valve comes on as soon as power is turned back on (even though timer is not set to turn it on) and has to be manually shut off at the selenoid. We removed a good selenoid from another valve and put it on the problem valve. The valve still reacts the same way. The flow arrows are not reversed and the entire valve is new. The sprinklers in that area all come on when the valve is turned on manually, but the water pressure changes. Can anyone help us troubleshot this problem?

The valve, like the others, is a Rainbird CP-100.

Thank you for any assistance.
