order placed......got good service from sprinkler warehouse so i went them again

It's the age old "Ford vs Chevy" situation. Who really makes the better product? Well to be honest neither and both do! The Hunter may actually work better in a loamy type soil, while the Rain-Bird may work better in a sandy situation (or vice versa). I will tell you this, Hunter has the better flush cap (if that is any reason to really choose a pop-up). Bottom line, it's just a matter of preference.

why does sprinkler list the pro sray as the best just there opinion?

**** lowes has the 1800series rainbirds with a nozzle its part#1804q for 1/4 circle they are almost 4.00 each so no big savings from getting them from lowes..i was planning on getting them from sprinkler warehouse b/c of the price they are alittle over 2.00 at sprinkler warehouse alot better price........tks for the input

Yes I do prefer the Rain-Bird over the Hunter. I sell both, and I have given you my best / unbiased opinion. There will be many who may disagree, but the facts are clear. Rain-Bird has a 5 year warranty, tried and true (no major design changes in the last 15 - 20 years) and so forth and so on..... Hunter only has a 3 year warranty and the Pro Spray has only ben on the market for about 5-7 years.

Don't get me wrong, they are both quality heads. Usually when picking a product that is as important as irrigation heads, one would normally pick what is predominate in their area (ease of finding parts or exact replacements). But in this case Rain-Bird and Hunter are both widely available in all markets. In the case of your pop-up spray bodies, I would stick with buying them from a supply house in your area, not a Home Depot or Lowe's. The products may look the same, but in almost all cases they are not. If you do not have a local supply house (wholesale distributor) you could order them through Sprinkler Warehouse (click on banner above).

One more thing to consider...

I think the rainbirds use more gpm and if that is a concern then make sure you check the specs.

so if it was you... you would get the rainbirds? you like the nozzles better and there alittle cheaper also.....

The reason Rain-Bird is cheaper is not because it is inferior, they just dropped their list prices for a quick increase in sales. They won't be cheaper for long. In fact, I think they have already recently raised their list price. So it might be a good idea to buy them now why they are less than the Hunter Pro-Spray.

Yes, the 1800 series pop-up and the MPR nozzles. I think you will find that they are superior to any others. Of coarse, there is the price that goes along with that. I am also not trying to take anything away from the Hunter Pro spray. They are a quality head too, and they will also take the Rain-Bird MPR nozzles. Either choice will be a sound one. <><
