Is it possible you have two valves wired together as number 1 and one of them stopped working?

2 of 3 sections within a zone not watering

my zone 1 (2 sides of house and 1 curb strip ) is only watering 1 side of house. zones 2 and 3 working fine. recently opened system at well head to install new check valve. sprinkler valves underground. can a bad valve or bad solenoid cut out 2 of the 3 sections in zone 1 ?
