reattaching sprinkler head

I need to put the sprinkler head back on correctly. I was adjusting the half-circle pattern on my Rainbird pop-up head by twisting the head in the direction I needed more coverage in, and I accidentally rotated the screw too far (over 360 degrees), and the head popped off causing a gusher. I turned off water and reattached the head with the screw, but it still pops off.
