Pressure issues...completely lost

So I found out that the problem was between the controller and the valve. Rather than waste time looking/digging to find the break in the wire, I connected new 18 gauge wire to the correct zone wire (brown) matching the malfunctioning zone, and boom! All worked. Buried the line, problem solved.

Pressure issues...completely lost

So here is the latest on my issue with Zone 4. I used a multimeter today to check all the electrical. The solenoid checks out fine so does power to the control box and each of the 5 zones I tested. When detaching the common wire from the control box and then testing the zone in question with the multimeter, I got no reading. Tells me that there is an issue somewhere in the wire from the control box to the valve. Just for S and Giggles, I tried switching the wire for zone 5 with the one for zone ...

So took it apart and everything seemed fine. Put it all back together, reconnected the wires and still nothing when zone 4's turn comes up on the controller. When i open the bleeder screw, the zone fully engages. When I manually turn on the zone with the solenoid, i get full pressure. I have tried 3 different solenoids as well and nothing is engaging the zone. My only other thoughts are that something is not working from the control panel and I am going to have to get a multimeter to test. At th...

Okay. What am I looking for when I open the valve back up? And then how should I proceed? Just re-assemble? THanks!

So the valve in the back was an Irritrol 205 so I just changed out the diaphragm and really the entire top part of the valve with the new parts. Didn't see the need to cut out the old base when everything matched up. It is in the correct flow direction. I fixed the broken pipe and now when I manually turn on Zone 4 I have pressure galore to all the heads in the back. So I can eliminate a clog because the pressure is great. The zone is still not activating with the timer though. I tried changing ...

Zone 4 Issue

Hi All So I am having, what seem to be electrical issues to my zone 4, backyard. There is absolutely no activity when it is zone 4's turn on the timer. I changed out the valve thinking this may be the issue but still nothing. I can manually turn it on but noticed there was really low pressure so figured there was a leak. Found the leak and need to handle that but right now it seems all for nothing if the zone is not even engaging when the timer is running. To me it seems like there is an electri...

Pressure issues...completely lost

Finally was able to get some work done on the system this last weekend. So i had ordered new Irritrol valves. My zone 4, that controls the back still seems to be having issues. It will not come on with the timer even with a new valve and all its new components. I can manually turn it on but the pressure was so low I knew there must be a leak. Found my leak and still need to fix that. I just don't understand why the zone is not even coming on when I use the timer. Could the leak in the line, whic...

So I ended up completely changing out one of the valves. I still have 4 other valves throughout the yard though that are the same as the images below. They are HIT brand out of California. I tried looking on their website for replacement parts but it is not user friendly. Would other diaphragm's and solenoids work with this model? Thanks for the reply! Below is the image of what valves 1-3 look like. Pretty much the same thing. Is there anything I should be looking for on them? I am on city water and there is no pressure reg in place. Should I take apart the valve and check for debris? I have 4 different boxes all over the yard;each with one zone. Pressure issues...completely lost

Hi All I have a pretty old system (20 years) at the new house we just purchased and it has me lost. When I turn on the test mode, Zone 1 operates well, with strong pressure. Zone 2, seems to operate fine when the water to the irrigation is turned on, but if it sits for a day or so and I run the system in something like test mode, the pressure has gone way down. If I manually turn on the zone, it works very well. Zone 3, for the front landscaping and side yard has about as minimal of pressure as ...
