I had the same problem with long narrow strips and tried several attempts to correct this problem. I tried using the sst(side-strip) nozzles(rain-bird), but found that they did not even shoot out in front of the nozzle 2ft, much less the desired 4-5ft in front that I needed. They did shoot side to side in a strip spray, but if your heads are on the outer edge of the strip of turf your trying to water, than these strip nozzles are not very effective.
