As an FYI - I tried some of those emitters and they work perfectly! I guess the .5 GPH couldn't handle the pressure of the system (they obviously aren't clogged since they emit water at the beginning and end of the cycle, just stop at full pressure). These adjustable emitters work fine, even turned down to a very low setting.

Thanks again for the help, its alleviated quite a bit of my frustrations!
