inlet size?

I am designing a system and wanted to know if there was any advantage to using 3/4 vs. 1/2 inch head inlet size. I am running 3/4 poly and using quick fittings and nipple risers. will using 1/2 inch reduce the flow alot or will I not see much difference?

Generally rotors are 3/4" and pop-ups are 1/2".
Some exceptions.
So that decides your head inlet size.
A good bit more info is needed before good advice can be given.

3/4-inch rotor heads will have physically stronger pipe connections, and that's always a good thing.

if I remember correctly if you connect 1/2" riser/funny pipe that is over 18" than you would have a problem.
