My Toro Custom 8 hydraulic controller is dead or dying again. I'm ready
to move on. The only thing I find on the web would be to use 2 of Toro's
converters (EHC-01-04). They receive the control line into a valve
(they call it an actuator) which is in turn controlled by any standard
electric timer. My questions are these:
- the lines coming into
the custom 8 seem to be 1/8" lines (I measure OD of .19 with my cheap
caliper (1/8" sprinkler tubing at Sprinkler Warehouse is listed as a
.187 OD); but the helpful guy at Sprinkler Warehouse noted that the web
site's specs mention specs for 3/16 and 1/4 tubing. Anyone ever put one
of these in? How does one get from the smaller tubes to what the
controller apparently accepts?
- in any case, I need longer tubes
than are there now - i.e., the tubes come just far enough into the
garage to reach the custom 8; not far enough that I could fan them out
to 8 separate actuators; so I have to buy new tube of some sort - and
splice it in. Does anyone have any idea where I could get splicers to
join the existing little lines either to new ones of the same size or to
the larger 3/16 or 1/4 lines - depending on the answer to the above
question?
Thanks for any insight!
Thomas.
