I would go either with Rainbird or Hunter, Or Irritrol. All three are easy to program. Don't go to some Home Improvement Center and buy a controller such as an Orbit. You can find controller manuals at this sprinklerwarehouse site:
Rainbird: http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/manuals/Rainbird_Controller_Manuals.htm

Hunter:
http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/manuals/Hunter_Controller_Manuals.htm

Irritrol:

You can find all of these controller brands (Including Toro) in the Sprinklerwarehouse Catalog
