Synchranizing Zone Control Sytem w/ Pump
Hi! Hope we can get some help. We have designed our irrigation system and we want to put it on a timer. We have a well in place with a pump. What we need to know is...how do you synchranize a zone control system with the pump and the well? We want to be sure that when the pump is on, the water is flowing. Thanks for any help out there. Also, send rain if you have any extra!
If this is a well for your house then it is very easy. when you run your water for your house the pressure in your system begins to drop wehn it gets down to a certain point you have a pressure switch that turns the pump on. So if you tap into your main line your irrigation will work the same. when your sprinkler valve opens water will start flowing and when the pressure drops enough then the pump comes on.
Now here is the most important thing. Your system should be designed around your pumps capacity. If you have too many heads per zone your pump wont supply your system with enough water to have it work properly and if you have too few zones then your pump keeps going on and off. that is bad for the pump. Hint seach this forum for the 5 gallon test and read about that.
