Locating Control Valve
Greetings,
I have a stuck control valve and I cannot locate the in-ground box. It is located in an area that has mature lawn and landscaping. Do you have any suggestions as how to locate it?
Thank you,
Jim
you will have to hire a sprinkler company that will come out with valve locators (almost looks like a metal detector) and locate the valve. You can purchase one of these machines but they do cost around 800.00 so its best to hire a professional company to do the work!
Thanks

If you know there is another valve in the same box you can turn on that zone and walk around the yard listening close to the ground. Valves tend to make a little humming. Or do what Ray said that would probably be easier.

Expect to pay about $75 bucks for the guy to find it for you.....approximately.

yea ... sounds about rite amount. sometimes the valves do hum but it would have to be real quite for you to find it, if it is buried. It would be in your best interest to have a company do it?
Thanks
