Toro Vision II Plus

I have A toro vision II plus system that has worked fine ever since I bought my house. But now the control pad went blank and has no power. My outlet is fine but the controller wont turn on. Could it have just died? What else Could it be?

Maybe the power transformer has died, and you can confirm that by measuring the transformer output voltage (24 volts AC, but could show near to 30 volts with no load)
