How to fix a cracked line that has stopper on it

I have an 8 zone system. On the backside zones, there is a piece of irrigation piping that the installer put two clamps on and there is a plastic stopper in it. There is no head connected and installer put it there knowing that my garden would be there and I could access that line to water it with a spigot attachment.......my issue is I turned my system on today and there is a 1.5" long crack that water comes out of this line. How do I fix it? Do I just cut the line shorter and re plug it?

Yes. Perhaps use the appropriate fitting and boiler drain so the line can be drained next time. After all, its part of the plan anyway.
