Wilkins 375-100

On the sprinklerwarehouse site it says the RDV Wilkins 375-100 can be used for potable water supplies, but when it arrived today it had a tag on one of the handles that said this device can only be used on non-potable water supplies.

Is this device safe for potable water?

Welcome to the lead-free future. The device in your hands is the same RPZ that's been used for years, but it is not current production, which will only use lead-free components. Lead-free plumbing components are part of the Clean Water Act, as effective as of 2014. Older production got these "non-potable" labels stuck on them, but they still can be used in service of older plumbing work that predates the current lead-free requirements that affect all new installations of sprinkler systems.
