Watering Trees

I live in the desert Southwest. I had previously designed/built a system that used bubbler heads on a dedicated zone to slowly water trees. I am currently building a new system on 2 acres of land with Ponderosa Pines that will also need slow irrigation over several hours. I am also placing the pine trees on a dedicated zone. Would it be preferable to use drip irrigation emitters around each of the trees, or to use the adjustable bubbler heads? Are there any other types of irrigation methods for trees that would be more advantageous in a dry climate?
