Changed controller, now 1 zone not working

I replaced a Imperial controller with a new Orbit controller. 5 of 6 zones are working fine. One zone will not come on. I tried switching the wire to a different terminal, no success. I opened the solenoid and was able to get that zone on. There is no obvious breaks in the wire at either end.

Could the solenoid have been damaged by changing the controller?
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Probably best to use a multimeter and make resistance measurements of the zone wiring, before you go further.
