Poly or PVC Mainline

I recently had Rainbird design my sprinkler system. They recommended 3/4 PVC for the mainline and 1 1/4 poly for the lateral lines. I have 18 gpm flow at 55 PSI. I also live in Wisconsin. Can I use PVC for the mainline in Wisconsin (Cold as heck the past 2 years)?

Do NOT use PVC for any of your sprinkler system. Midwest climates wreak havoc on PVC pipe. And the 3/4" mainline is a joke. Use 1 1/4" mainline and laterals (Poly of course) and neck down to 1" for zone lines.

Thanks. Would it be okay to stick with 1 1/4" for lateral lines and zone lines for simplicity?

Simplicity isn't worth paying double the price or more.
