It doesn't look like any of them are as simple as a hard-wired sensor, over time. If the Hunter replacement transmitter/battery unit isn't too pricey, that sounds easiest, even with the receiver reprogramming.

I'm curious about that SW1 caution for the Rainbird sensor. Does the unit stay 'asleep' if the button gets pressed? Is this in any way related to the recent unavailability of their sensors for a time?

It is just 300ft. -not line of sight. It will work through garage walls. I have installed over 20 wireless sensors, and they all work great . I wouldnrt use any thing else.
