locating sprinkler system irrigation lines
I recently purchased a home with an irrigation system, however the seller couldn't locate the drawing showing the system layout. I was told the system hadn't been used in about 2 years also.
Not being familiar with irrigation systems, can the layout be "located" similar to the public utilities before one digs?
If the system can't be located by automatic means, I assume that the "hit and miss" method of location is my only alternative.
TIA
There really is no way of locating irrigation pipes. The utility companies using tracing wires or other means to tag their utilities. Without a drawing, you are probably going to have to go with the hit / miss method. You can locate the irrigation wires with a wire tracing device.
