ARe you checking the GPM at a hose bibb? Sounds like you are. 6.6 is okay for the hosebibb. If you tap directly into the 3/4 copper you should get 11-14 GPM I would think at 60psi.....just a guess not scientific.

If you do the bucket test at a hosebibb, lots of times the hosebibb is very restrictive, usually it is 1/2 " copper.

I have just setup a connection to the hose bib(Hose bib is the what your hose attaches to at the manual valve outside your home). I too only had a small GPM, around 9. But I was able to keep most of the pressure and increase my GPM to 15 by increasing the PVC Pipe that I ran off the hose bib. I used a 3/4 inch PVC sch40 Pipe and then increased it again to a 1 inch connector to the Sprinkler Valve (I used 1 inch valves) then ran all 1 inch main line PVC sch40 Piping and Poly Piping. Then I used 1 inch tees to a 3/4 threaded adapter and 3/4 inch Poly Pipe to the sprinkler and made all the adjustments so that the 3/4 piping would be stepped down to a 1/2 to connect to the sprinkler.

Anyway the end result was I was able to hook up 5 sprinklers using Rain Bird 1800's and VAN 18' Nozzles. At this point I got most of the use out of the nozzles. I could only use up to 220 degrees but that was enough to cut down on the number of valves from 6 to 4. I covered all the gardens and the turf. I cut the yard in fourth's. Used a mixture of degrees on the nozzles. I used from 20 degree's in some areas and 220 in other areas. Works great and I cut my costs too.
