Rapid clicking in solenoids

I have a residential sprinkler system with 22 zones, controlled by a Rainbird ESP 24LX+ controller. The solenoids in the valves for many of the zones make a rapid clicking sound when the zone is not on, and replacing the solenoid doesn't seem to help. Anyone have suggestions for what might be the problem?

Timer problem...sounds like the board is going bad....sounds like bleed..meaning that when zone 1 is on some power bleeds to the other zones causing them to have small amounts of voltage..not enough to kick on the solenoids...causing them to try and open...call rainbird...do a google search and you can get their website..then their customer service number. Good luck.
