R-50, Rain curtain nozzles

I want to replace the standard long throw nozzles on Rain Bird R-50s with rain curtain nozzles. What is the difference between using a 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 configuration versus a 3.0, 4.0 6.0 cofiguration and which is preferable. There are 5 rotors per section and the water pressure is about 45 psi.

Why bother? Adjusting the breakup screw on the nozzle can give you equivalent coverage. Besides, the two varieties of nozzles do not have the same flow rates. Now, if your 45 psi is the static supply pressure, and you have less that 30 psi at the heads themselves, then you can gain by making the switch, and taking the time to dismantle each head to readjust the stator settings, if changing nozzle sizes.
