I have a Toro valve, model number 254-06-04, which is 17 years old.
The new model would be 264-06-04...should be able to find it at Sprinkler Warehouse....email customer service if necessary.
The valves are interchangeable..yes....
Also, if I have to install a new valve, is it possible to just cut the wires on the old solenoid and splice the new valve wires with the old wires? Does it matter which wire would be connected to which wire since I am trying to do this without having to dig up the existing wires?
Yes it's possible....it doesn't matter which wire, just use waterproof wire caps....can also get those at Sprinkler Warehouse...
Ps..dont forget to turn water off prior to removing valve screws....good luck.
