Richdel 446pri hybrid

I sure could use your advice. I have a Richdel 446PRi Hybrid controller that after a thunderstorm completely died on me. I used an avometer and found out that there is current going through the transformer but nothing coming out of the 2 ports. To me that sounds like the transformer is busted. I went to Home Depot, RAdio Shack and anywhere else I could think of but could not find a replacement transformer. Info on the back of the transformer is as follows:

Baster Electric, PRI 120 v 60 hz 0.36A
Sec 24VAC 30 VA
BE116430AAA0026
A9332.

I also unscrewed the controller main body to see if there is any visual sign of burning and could not find any.

Can you help with either suggestions on replacement transformer or what to do? I could not find an equally capable system at Lowes or Home depot to replace the whole thing.

I live in Dallas and whether is quite hot hewre so please reply as soon as you can.

regards. ashraf.el-gharby@intl.pepsi.com

You might try a local irrigation distributor or online search. If you can't find a replacement transformer, order a professional grade controller from Sprinkler Warehouse. I wouldn't even mess around with the home improvement store controllers.

Thanks a lot. I did find someone locally who still stocks those transformers. They even offered to test my controller for free if I take it to them. For my own education and perhaps future reference don't all irrigation controller transformers have the same (somewhat same) power consumption? shouldn't they all be compatible and thus interchangeable?
