Sticky Nelson valve

Hi, I am running my system off a well. I have Nelson's model 7911 valves and am having trouble with the valves shuting off. I belive this is due to fine sand particals in the water. I have consider putting a filter in line but it lower my GPM below that of what I have the heads set for. Is there a valve that I can switch to that will handle this type of problem better?

Thanks[:)]

Install a strainer anyway, and the valves can remain. It will subtract a few psi, but you can live with the pressure loss, or even re-nozzle the heads, if need be.

Wet Boots,

I took your advice and found a screen strainer at Lowes. It seems to be doing the trick.
