valve replacement
Ok, I am a new female homeowner with 2 puddles, started small getting bigger. I have already replaced and replumbed the sump pump in the backyard so I'm feeling handy. I can only find 2 green valve boxes and the one closest to back has one SRV valve in it. I have 12-13 different zones. Tried twice to get repaired, man never showed up. I want to try to repair myself if possible because as luck would have it, now my sewer pipe is leaking from the slab. Yes, I had everything inspected before buying.
Seller was a sprinkler installer who moved out of country. Smart man. Should there be more then 2 boxes for the valves? What should I do first to narrow down the problem. Each box is full of mud. Should I try to clean up the wires in the valve box first? Valve says Hunter SRV, and what does the 1/4 turn to off mean. If I turn that will it turn off the valve? Any help would be appreciated.
