Please help with questions
I just had sod installed and my exsiting sprinkler system was expanded to include a larger area. I just found out that the contractor ripped out most of my existing PVC pipe and installed a black flexible pipe that runs from the main line to all of the heads around the perimeter of the lawn. We had discussed adding a few heads to the existing system, but not the method he used. He used the Hunter heads that rotate, but they are just pressed in to a flexible pipe and they are only held in place by the dirt around them. Also I am concerned that the gophers or moles may eat through this piping. I have had that happen on several of my dripper lines. Also, I asked for a gopher barrier to be used under the sod. He used chicken wire with 1/2" holes. Is this OK!
Do I have legitimate concerns? Is this a common method for installing the feed lines? I have only seen rigid PVC used. Is chicken wire the right product for a gopher barrier?
