underground wire

underground wire

I bought direct burial wire for the controller to valve wiring. Is it necessary to encase the wire in conduit or does "direct burial" mean it can be placed right in the ground?

When you come out of your garage or house with the wire, make sure you get a 90 degree pvc condiut box with the screwable cover on it. Make sure you also condiut the wire from the controller to the point where it goes out side also. This makes it look more professional, and protects the wires. When its underground, its protected by the ground, so no need for couduit there.
