Hi All, a few weeks ago my FEBCO 765 Backflow valve/Pressure Vacuum Breaker did an internal self destruct.
We had a mild freeze and it might have frozen, but I have had problems with the poppet for several years now. The 765 casing looks ok.
Anyway, I need to get internal replacement parts (all of them) for the 765.
I measured the incoming water supply line and it was 1.3 inches so am I right in assuming that I have a 1 1/4" model 765 ?
From looking a FEBCO 765 parts breakdown sheet - it looks like these are the parts that I need.
905-212 Bonnet/Poppet Kit
905-052 Check Assembly Kit
630-106 Check Spring
The real question that I have is -- Wouldn't it be cheaper if I just bought a 1" FEBCO and took the parts out of it to rebuild my 765 ?
Are there any plus's or minus's in doing this ? or should I just purchase the rebuild kits listed above ?
