Filter Screen

I pump from a creek into sprinkler system. I course screen at intake. I 100 mesh screen it before valves. Simple question. I use a toothbrush and clean water to clean screen. Anything work better?

I employ 100 mesh stainless steel screens for pumped water, and can simply rub the screen clean with the palm of my hand. (the flow is from the outside of the screen inward, so it's easy to clean this way)
