ESP 6 show digital readout but change not change

I have a ESP 6; when I try to change the settings it will not change. There is power to the box; I just changed the battery tonight. I don't know when it last worked. I figured it was water when I was at work but I don't think it has worked in about a week. I cannot make any changes to the schedule. The buttons will not allow me to change the day or time. Does this sound like the controller has gone out. Where does the station wiring connect?
