Nelson 8616 EZ Pro 16 Zone Controller

I recently purchased a Nelson 8616 EZ Pro Controller to replace my old Abacus controller. The Abacus still works but doesn't keep accurate time as it loses about an hour per day.

When I installed the Nelson, it appeared to be properly going through it's cycle when watching the display, but the controller wasn't opening the valves to irrigate the lawn. I subsequently re-installed my Abacus controller and everything (minus the clock) works correctly.

Any advice as to why the Nelson isn't activating my valves?

Any help would be appreciated.
