Stakes - What to use & Where to find

I plan on staking out my yard to show where trenches will be dug. I am having trouble locating relatively "inexpensive" stakes. I've even tried places that carry surveying equipment. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

How about using flags. I've seen them at Sprinkler Warehouse: http://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/SearchResults.asp?Extensive_Search=Y&Search=marking+flags
If I can't fix it, it's broken!

I've seen cheap 2' (or was it 18") stake in a box.

Alternately, I'd suggest just using contractor marking spray paint. You can get it in neon green to contrast with the grass, yet be different from the orange (data), red (power), blue (water), and yellow (gas) used by the line locators. A 10' piece of PVC makes a great strait edge, and you can stretch the paint using dashed lines.
