3" valve

I am looking for a valve that will 3" pipe. It is for a golf course application. The current irrigation system at the course is OLD, nothing automated, all hand turned gate valves. I would like a 3" valve to replace a current main line valve, which is a large cast iron hand turn type. I would like to automate this valve, the wiring would only have to run < 100 yards, and simply open/close, no computer involved. Is there such a thing that could be retro-fitted? I find several 2" valves that I think would work, most between $200-$250. I was told by one local dealer that my situation could be fit, but for $1400.00? Any help would be appreciated.

Your budget isn't enough for what you want.
