My backyard sprinklers aren't working but my front yard ones are... I am not sure what to do. PLEASE HELP

Hello,

I just moved into to this home and I am nut sure what I am doing when it comes to sprinkler systems. From what it says on the side pannel on the sprinkler controller system the front and back sprinklers (for the flowers) are together on the run time and the grass sprinkler is on its own. The front sprinklers both grass and flowers are working however in the backyard the sprinklers don't turn on at all ?( . I have tried setting the system a few times but nothing has worked. I have also used the semi-auto feature which I thought would make all of the sprinklers work however only the front sprinklers ran. I have the manual for models HR-6100, HR-6100, HR-6100-1-LT. If you know what I can do please tell me and if you have any idea of who I could contact to help me with this problem that would be great too.

Oh boy.

You've asked a question that doesn't have a clear cut answer. There's a variety of reasons why the backyard sprinklers aren't coming on. Here's two I'd check first. Make sure the ground wire is hooked up to the backyard valves and make sure the backyard valves actually have a water supply. Many times I'll find that someone has turned off a valve leading to the backyard. Let me just add that your list of what comes on with what maybe obsolete. People change things around. This post could last for pages before you figure it out.

If you decide to hire someone, make sure he's an irrigation specialist. No plumbers, no landscapers, no gardeners, no electricians. You need a guy who knows what he's doing. Also ask how much they charge. Where I live the rates vary wildly. I'm talking 40 dollars an hour difference between guys. The most expensive in our case isn't the best either. I find myself fixing their work they wont warranty. It amazes me how they get away with it. Imagine paying 220 dollars for two broke off risers. or 1,200 for 6 valve adapters. This was when a valve adapter cost 20 bucks for the contractor. I had to fix the wiring on that 1,200 dollar job cause the guy wouldn't come back. He's still at it to this day. Ahh, you know what to do, go with your gut instinct of who will be fair.
