I am assuming you wish to turn off several of your roters on a zone, while continuing to use others on that zone.

Is this temporary or is it a permanent desire?

Partial answer. I do use Rainbird 5000 plus, where the plus signifies the ability to turn off the head by turning a screw on top. I searched the web, and find no mention of the Nelson 6000 having that ability. Bummer

So will yield to others with more experience if they say there is a way to turn off individual heads.

That said, if you wish to make this permanent, depending on the heads place in the lateral line, you can either remove the ones you want to "turn off" and place a cap over the riser, or swing joint male threads entering the head. Obviously,if you are abandoning a distal group of heads, you can cut the line after the last head you will be using, and cap it off.

If shutting off some of the heads effects their performance (misting) hopefully you have a flow control on that valve that can be used to adjust the remaining heads output.
