hose end squeaking

We have a rainbird hose end system. It is about a year and a half old. Can you have a backflor preventer on a hose end system?

If you are talking about drip irrigation from a hose bibb, then yes, you are supposed to have some sort of backflow preventer on the drip system. Usually, a backflow preventer is included in the parts that usually get attatched to the hose, including a filter, and usually a hose thread to pipe thread converter (because most of the filters will have pip threads rather than hose threads).
