RD-1200 not woorking

I purchased a home with a Rain Dial RD-1200 controller, which has quit working. The LCD display shows 7' regardless of the position of the multi-function dial or other switches. Cycle the power does not help. Does anyone know what the problem is, or have a recommendation of how to troubleshoot?
