How to change a valve (to not be a valve) and to always allow flow

I am changing the configuration (adding on) to my irrigation system. I have a RainBird DV valve which now is not needed and in fact I want it to NOT be a valve any more and to always allow flow and for that line after the valve to remain pressurized.

I don't want to remove that valve from the system (at least not yet) because it would be a real time-consuming nuisance. ;(

Will removing the internals of this RainBird DV valve do the trick for me? Exactly what do I remove?

TIA,

Chris

PS. I have never opened up a valve before so I am a newbie at it.

Remove the valve. Do the work, and you get a spare zone valve. It isn't that difficult.
