low pressure in one zone

I have a two zone Toro system that has worked well for many years. Late last year zone 1 developed very low water pressure. Zone 2 works perfectly. Zone 1 does not appear to have any breaks or leaks anywhere. No changes have been made to either zone in several years. It is almost like the valve is not opening all the way. Any suggestions???

Most of the time the problem you've described will be the diaphragm. Needs replacing.


Here's a good way to find out. While the valve is running open the bleeder screw. It will work without
the valve running but you can see the change in the sprinkler spray with it on. If opening the bleeder screw increases the flow then replace the diaphragm. The valve might stick open if the diaphragm is bad. Have a game plan to turn it off.
Turning down the flow control will do it. If there's no flow control tapping/light banging on the valve might close it. I use the handle of a screwdriver. Also know where the shut off valve is. Turning off the water then back on can close it.

Still could be a break in the system somewhere.
