Valve Box full of water

Is it Ok for the valves to be submerged in water in the box after it rains. It takes a day or so for the water to drain off as the soild is mostly clay. I'm using irritrol 2400 valves.. I'm currently installing the system this week...

Since everything about the valve (solenoid, wire splices, etc) should be sealed and water proof, it is fine for the irrigation box to be flooded.

Actually, irrigation valves, can be installed directly underground without even being located in a valve box. But to allow for maintenence, you would never want to really bury an irrigation valve.
