Adjusting inline GB Rainbird Valve

Greetings-

I have a fairly new Rainbird system which creates a banging waterhammer sound when it turns off with the GB valve in the "on" position. When the In-line GB valve is rotated to turn "off", there is no banging or water-hammer. Do i need this valve to be turned on? And if so, is there an adjustment so it will close slower?

Thanks!

Put the solenoid back to "off" - you are manually opening the valve. Let the controller operate the system.
