Saddle vs. barbed T
Does anyone have a preference for connecting Hunter I20 sprinkler heads to 1 Poly lines?
In other words, am I better off using barbed Ts with ¾ female fittings with stainless steel crimp clamps or am I better of using saddles (in either case, Im planning to install swing pipe for each head).
Since I plan on installing the heads my self, Im considering purchasing the blazing saddle that comes with a barbed arm attached (sold here at sprinklerwarehouse.com). Does anyone have experience with these devices? I want to do this correct the first time.
Thanks for your help,
DIYer
I like saddles waaaay more. I have an old post about saddle ts and also consider blazing saddle ts with the funny pipe ends. They have worked great for me

I hear the blazing saddle tees are very good, but my company still uses barbed fittings, because we have a huge stock of them.......the blazing saddle are very easy

Dawn saddle tees, also. The downer to those though is you have to core a hole. I also like blazing saddles.

My only word of caution is be careful when slipping the blazing saddle over the pipe. I broke one when it was being installed because I streched it too wide.

word has it that if any repairs are needed to be done where saddle t's were used it makes it a pain. They tend to leak if moved at all from original position. Barbed T's are better!

I really don't know that much about the blazing saddle t's a matter in fact this is the first time I have ever heard mention of them. I went to see what they looked like at: (blue)wehttp://www.sprinklerwarehouse.com/shop3/enter.html?target=MiscFittingsPoly_FittingsTees.htmlnt(/blue)
They look neat, If the situation was that I wanted to plug one off, say when I'm doing a repair, how do I go about doing that?
