Rainbird ESP Modular Controller M problem

We are following the manual to set programs A, B, and C (different stations/days for each program) but no matter what we do, when one program runs (example A where station 1 is set for 30 min., all others are set at 0 min.) ALL the stations run....even though we have purposefully put 0 min. in for them every station but station 1. This even includes stations we don't have a valve on! Today the controller showed that stations 6 and then 7 were running even tho there is no valve on those. Have anyone had a similar experience? We are following the manual explicitly. What are we missing?
